Youngstown house fire under investigation

It started Friday morning in the Brownlee Woods neighborhood

Fire investigators are trying to figure out what started a fire on Meadowbrook Avenue, in the Brownlee Woods neighborhood of Youngstown.


YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Fire investigators are trying to figure out what started a fire on Meadowbrook Avenue in the Brownlee Woods neighborhood of Youngstown.

It happened a little before 10 a.m. Friday.

There was significant damage to the house’s siding, but no one was hurt.

Youngstown Fire Department says the fire appears to have started in the kitchen and spread to the back of the house.

The cause is still under investigation, but investigators say it does not appear to be suspicious.

A family was living in the home but wasn’t there at the time the fire started.

Editor’s note: At one point, the fire was thought to be suspicious but investigators are now saying it doesn’t appear to be.
