HERMITAGE, Pennsylvania – James F. Walker, 82, died Saturday, November 12, 2016 at the Sharon Regional Hospital.
He was born October 21, 1934 in McConnelsville, Ohio, son of Joseph and Priscilla Walker.
James was a 1952 graduate of Philo High School.
After his service in the United States Navy he was employed by Haliburton Services for 25 years as a Field Supervisor, retiring in 1986.
James was an outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing and sports. He was a great storyteller who enjoyed road trips with his friends. He was an inspiring mentor to his boys and especially enjoyed his time spent with all of his grandchildren.
James married Rosa L. (Bryan) Walker on September 20, 1958. Together they had three sons who are left to cherish his memory, John R. (Danielle) Walker, Jerry L. (Heidi) Walker and Doak (Helen) Walker. Also surviving are three brothers, John, Donald and Phillip Walker; four sisters, Mary McConnel, Alice Moran, Ruth Riddle, and Joyce Englebert; ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Rosa who died January 27, 2008; by one son and by brothers, Joseph and William Walker.
Services will be held in the Mausoleum Chapel at the Crown Hill Burial Park in Vienna, Ohio.
Calling hours for James are being held Thursday evening, November 17, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.
Viewing will be Friday, November 18, 2016, from 12:00 Noon – 1:00 p.m. followed by a 1:00 p.m. funeral service with Pastor Kenneth D. Ogg officiating.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Selby- T. J. Fox Funeral Home.
