Car accident shuts down section of I-680

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said the teen was taken to the hospital for minor injuries

Emergency crews said they are both alive and did not sustain any serious injuries.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – The Midlothian Boulevard exit ramp from I-680 South was shut down for about an hour Sunday morning.

Just before 9 a.m., 18-year-old Austin Cook from Hubbard was driving his truck when he veered off the road and hit a light pole.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said Cook was taken to the hospital for minor injuries.

Officers aren’t sure why Cook veered off the road, but said they will investigate to see if alcohol played a factor in the crash.
