SARASOTA, Florida (Formerly Mineral Ridge, Ohio) – Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 19, at the Lane Family Funeral Home, Mineral Ridge Chapel for Hannah Louise Rathburn, 79, of Sarasota Florida, formerly of Mineral Ridge, who passed away Sunday, November 13 in Complex Care at Ridgelake in Sarasota.
Hannah was born December 31, 1936 in Nashville, Tennessee, the daughter of the late James Henry and Eva Mae (Huffman) Roberson.
Hannah was a teacher’s aide at Fairhaven School for many years retiring in 1985.
She was a member New Hope United Methodist, the Rebecca’s Lodge and the Campfire Street Rodders.
She enjoyed playing cards and reading. Most of all Hannah enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and recently moved to Florida to spend more time with them.
Her husband Richard A. Rathburn, Sr. whom she married June 25, 1955, passed away in 2009.
Hannah leaves three children, Pam Kitt, Gail Sewell and Rick (Chrissy) Rathburn, Jr. all of Sarasota, Florida; four sisters, Rosa Stephenson, Jean Winsky and Jan (Buddy) Carl all of Nashville, Tennessee and Jackie (Charles) Williams of Gallatin, Tennessee; as well as her grandchildren, Sara (Brian) Linger, Amy (Nick) Jordan, Dina (Wyatt) Rathburn, Alex (Brian) Hudson, Stephanie (Bryan) Calhoun, Eddie (Abbey) Kitt and Bella Rathburn and 12 great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents and husband, Hannah was preceded in death by two sisters, Lena Roberson and Margaret Myatt.
Friends may call from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday, November 18, at the Lane Family Funeral Home, Mineral Ridge Chapel where services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 19.
Interment to follow at Green Haven Memorial Gardens.
