Key Returnees
The Lady Quakers return three starters including the Columbiana County Player of the Year, 6’1 senior forward, Chloe Cheresne (17 ppg, 7 rpg). She’ll be joined by Leah Menegos (5’8/SR) and Alli Davidson-Chuck (5’8/JR) who offer the team plenty of experience and leadership. Davidson-Chuck led the team in free throw shooting (69%) and steals (1.0). Senior forward Helene Shonts is also back after leading Salem in field goal percentage with 53%. Salem also will have senior Katie Moore (5’7/G) along with a trio of sophomores (Ellie Davidson, Jessica Slocum, Abi Hochadel) and a freshman (Echo Mayer-Kutz).

In May, Vince Nittoli was announced as Salem’s new head varsity girls’ basketball coach. Most recently, Nittoli led Lowellville’s boys’ team to an 18-6 mark last year and an 18-5 record the year prior. With Chloe Cheresne back in the fold and two other starters, the pieces are there to see his success flourish in his new surroundings.
