Rick Alli was hired to replace former Lowellville Police Chief Rick Jamrozik.

LOWELLVILLE, Ohio (WKBN) – The Village of Lowellville has someone to run their police department since its former chief resigned in September.

Rick Alli was hired as a part-time village marshal, which also serves as the chief of police.

Alli served over 30 years in the Youngstown Police Department and worked for the Ohio Attorney General’s Office.

He says he is looking forward to getting to know the residents of Lowellville.

“I bring a lot of experience here and I think the friendly atmosphere is phenomenal, and I can’t wait to get started. To get out there and get to know everyone, and see how things are going.”

Mayor James Iudiciani, Sr. says he chose Alli to help train his young force.

“It was just the time to bring a seasoned veteran in to train our young folks and our young police officers to be a better department. It was just a perfect fit.”

Former Police Chief Rick Jamrozik resigned following allegations from his ex-girlfriend that resulted in her filing a restraining order against him.
