Jefferson Twp. man hit while crossing road, dies from injuries

JEFFERSON TWP., Pa. (WKBN) – An 85-year-old man was killed after he was struck by a car while crossing the street get to his paper box Tuesday morning.

The Jefferson Township Police Department identified the victim as Russel Ealy.

Ealy was crossing State Route 238 just before 8 a.m. when he was hit. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Mercer County Coroner’s Office.

The car involved in the crash was driven by a 17-year-old girl. Police have not released her name.

The investigation is ongoing, and no charges have been filed at this time.
