NILES, Ohio – Nancy Carol Johnson, 75, passed away at 1:32 p.m. on Tuesday November 15, 2016 at the Select Speciality Hospital at the St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown.
She was born in Anawalt, West Virginia on March 3, 1941 the daughter of Emmet and Linda Ellen (Music) Arnold and lived in this community most of her life.
She retired in 2006 after working 30 years as a unit secretary at Trumbull Memorial Hospital.
She enjoyed cooking, baking, yardwork, flower gardening and treasurer hunting at antique stores and flea markets. She loved birds, both in the wild outdoors and her two conure birds “Tika” and “Coco” at home. She also enjoyed gambling at the casinos, playing the slot machines and bingo.
Nancy is survived by a daughter, Becky (Richard) Lohr, Jr. of Liberty Township; son, Charles S. “Chuck” Johnson of Niles; granddaughter, Shana Lohr of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; grandson, Richard (Nichole) Lohr III of Girard; two sisters, Jane (Adam) Needles of Indiana, Georgia (Joe) Mills of West Virginia and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marion S. Johnson whom she married on December 31, 1963 and who died on September 25, 2012; three brothers, Charles Arnold, Robert Arnold, Melvin Arnold and a sister, Virginia Bryant.
The funeral will be Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home where family and friends may call one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be in Lordstown Cemetery.
