Key Returnees
The team will be led by a pair of seniors – Anthony Graziano and Julian Berry – who are both returning lettermen. Coach Hannon has high expectations for his two seniors, “I fully expect them to be solid leaders and contributors for this team.” Junior guard Anthony Backus leads a solid group of underclassmen as he has an opportunity to shine in Hannon’s system this season.

Outlook
After opening last season with a 1-3 start – Girard defeated McDonald (72-68), Newton Falls (59-54), LaBrae (75-67), and Springfield (60-57) en route to a 14-win season. The Indians won six of their final eight contests to finish the 2015-16 campaign strong. Over the last four years, Girard has posted a winning percentage of 71.9% (69-27) overall and has posted two league titles within the last three campaigns.

“Our expectations are always the same here,” points out coach Hannon. “Compete for the league title, compete for the district title, and play as hard as you possibly can for 32 minutes of every game. If we can do that last thing, the other expectations will fall into place.”
