Accident, crash, ambulance generic

WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – Warren police are looking for a man who they said assaulted an elderly man as he walked down the street with a walker.

The elderly man said he was walking home along Tod Avenue Wednesday shortly after 11:30 p.m.

He told police that a silver car driven by a younger black man slowed down as it turned from Tod onto Webb Street. The man asked the driver if he had a problem because he thought something might have been wrong.

According to a police report, the man said the driver stopped in the crosswalk and asked him what he said.

As the victim began to walk around the car, he said the driver hit him on the head, knocking him down. Because he needs his walker, he was unable to get up.

He told officers that the driver then drove away on Webb.

Several community members stopped to help the man and an ambulance arrived to make sure he was okay. One of his ears was hurt and bruised, but he didn’t want any more treatment.
