BOARDMAN, Ohio – Gerald J. “Jerry” Gnapp, age 80, of Boardman passed away on Thursday November, 17, 2016.
Born June 8, 1936 in Gallitzin, Pennsylvania, he was the son of Joseph and Olga (Boldizar) Gnapp.
He retired from General Motors after 41 years of service.
He loved to bowl, play golf and greatly enjoyed Polka music.
Jerry was known for sending greeting cards to family and friends for any and all occasions and loved to put together picture collages. He had a great, witty, but dry sense of humor.
Survivors include his children, Don (Lisa) Gnapp and Lori Cruz; grandchildren, Mark “Joey” Fabian, Jordan Cruz, Kurtis Gnapp and Violet Gnapp; a sister, Deborah Hammond; brother-in-law, Fred Wolf and his children, Terry, Randy, Ricky and Brenda, all of whom he loved very much. His children, grandchildren and sisters all knew how much he loved and cared for them. They knew he was always there for whatever they needed.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Kevin and a sister, Patricia Wolf.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Lane Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel on Monday, November 28, 2016 at 7:00 p.m., where friends and family will be received beginning at 5:00 p.m. until the time of service.
The family would like to thank niece Brenda Hoover as well as the staff of Hospice of the Valley for the care they extended to Jerry.
