WARREN, Ohio – Lawrence E. Haynes, 86, of 121 Eastwind Drive N.E., Warren, departed this life on Thursday, November 17, 2016, at 8:00 a.m. at Trumbull Memorial Hospital, following complications of a short illness.
He was born September 24, 1930, in Johnson City, Tennessee, the son of Walter E. and Verlie G. Malone Haynes, residing in the area for 65 years, coming from Cincinnati.
Mr. Haynes was employed with Squaw Creek Country Club for 13 years as a custodian. He also worked for Republic Steel, a.k.a. LTV, a.k.a. W.C.I. Steel Company, where he was a roller from 1958-2000.
He was a past member of Antioch Pentecostal Tabernacle Church.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, CB radio and playing the guitar.
He leaves to mourn his wife, Daisy Butler Haynes of Warren; two sons, James Melvin Haynes of Warren and Robert Eugene Haynes of San Francisco, California; three stepsons, William (Hiroko) Butler of New York, Marcus Butler of Columbus and Anthony (Renee) Butler of Cincinnati; one brother, Malcolm (Mary) Haynes of Crestview, Florida; two sisters, Mrs. Lana (Wayne) Daggs and Mrs. Sarah (Michael) Young both of Bristol, Tennessee; 24 grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Bobby G. Haynes; two brothers, Alfred L. Haynes and Jewel B. Haynes; two sisters, Mrs. JoAnna Taylor and Florence Haynes.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, November 23, 2016, at 12:00 Noon at the Sterling-McCullough Williams Funeral Chapel.
Calling Hours will be held two hours prior to the service, from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 Noon.
Burial will take place at Pineview Memorial Park Cemetery.
Family will receive friends at 121 Eastwind Drive N.E.
Arrangements of comfort were handled by the Sterling-McCullough Williams Funeral Home.
