YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Hundreds of people lined up inside the First Presbyterian Church of Youngstown Thursday night for a free Thanksgiving dinner.
The feast had all of the Thanksgiving fixings.
This is the 36th year for the community Thanksgiving tradition at the Wick Avenue church.
Organizers start preparing early to make sure everyone has a seat and a hot meal.
“We start planning in early spring. We get donations from the church, we get donations from the community and all of the items are ordered in September and October,” Margie Patterson said.
Many of the volunteers are from the church and Boy Scout Troop 255. They say it’s a great way for them to work with the community and spread some early holiday cheer.
