Key Returnees
Losing 6 players which included 5 seniors from last year’s team has put the first-year head coach Steven Hughes into focusing on developing individual skills this past summer like dribbling and shooting. The lone returning starter Christian Dirando is back and one of their most reliable players coming off the bench Jordan Zupko is also back in the fold this winter. Dirando averaged 4.5 assists and 2.8 steals as a junior. Zupko made 9 of 21 three-point attempts as a freshman. He also dished out 3.8 assists. Jarred Miller and Justin Cox, both described by their coach as being very aggressive players and are expected to add the type of defensive style that they’re expecting to play.

Outlook
“Our season will only be as successful as the amount of effort that is given on a daily basis,” says Hughes. “We know we’re not the most talented team from a basketball skill perspective; however, we are very athletic and have a very aggressive group of players. Our goal is to dictate the style of plat and in doing so we hope to continue the success that (former) coach (Randy) Riccitelli and the team started a year ago.” Coach Hughes was an assistant last year for the Rams.
