Farrell cruises through First Round of State Playoffs

Kyi Wright rolls out of the pocket Friday night as he helped Farrell top Conemaugh Township and advance to the next round of the PIAA Class A Playoffs.

Farrell, the recently crownded District Ten Champions and defending Class A State Runner-Up, rolled through the First Round of the State Playoffs with a 30-0 victory over Conemaugh Township Friday night.

The Steelers (9-3) racked up 390 total yards, with 258 of that coming on the ground. Farrell was led by senior tailback Braxton Chapman, who finished with 9 carries for 79 yards and 1 touchdown. Chapman also left the game in the 2nd quarter with an apparent knee injury.

Sophomore quarterback Kyi Wright completed 6 of 12 passes for 140 yards and 1 touchdown. Wright also ran for 35 yards and two touchdowns.
