They were joined by First News reporter and weekend anchor, Julie Bercik, on Thursday night.

The three read and talked with 50 to 60 kindergarten through fourth grade students and their parents. There was also a book sale, so kids could pick out something new to take home and read; a bake sale; and arts and crafts for their classmate, Kellen Grace.

The third grader was recently diagnosed with leukemia, but at a spaghetti dinner this week, they got some great news: Kellen is in remission.

Money raised at the dinner and Thursday’s bake sale will help Kellen and his mom with medical costs.
