Key Returnees
Seniors Kameron Patterson and Andrew Mason will lead the Eagles into the 2016-17 season. Patterson is the leading returning scorer (8.7), rebounder (5.7) and he also dished out the most assists (2.3) among any Eagle. Mason shot 35.7% from three-point range (10-28) last season while averaging 3.3 points and 2.4 boards. Their classmate Kyle Barger – a 6’4 center – is back as well after scoring 2 points per game and 1.5 rebounds a year ago. Junior Martin Beatty (6.8 ppg, 2.4 rpg) and sophomore Logan Lutz (3.1 ppg, 1.5 rpg) should have more defined roles this year.

Outlook
The loss of their exceptional scoring tandem of Brendan Record (16.6 ppg) and Kaiden Young (13.4 ppg) will be a tough task for coach Loughry to replace. Grove City does return three starters (Kameron Patterson, Andrew Mason and Kyle Barger). “This year’s team should be very balanced scoring,” says Loughry. “We could go as deep as a 10-man rotation. If we can overcome a tough early non-conference schedule – we should be well-prepared for a rigorous conference schedule”.
