Police: Vienna officer shoots at suspect in car

Both the officer and suspect were taken to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital but had no injuries

VIENNA, Ohio (WKBN) – A Vienna police officer shot at a man who tried to run him over late Friday evening.

After fleeing from a hit-and-run incident around 6:30 p.m., officers caught up with the main suspect in Howland.

According to officials, when the suspect was pulled over to have an officer speak with him he took off, nearly running over the officer.

The officer shot at the car, which later crashed into a ditch in the area of Warren-Sharon and Centennial roads, police said.

Both the officer and suspect were taken to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital but had no injuries.
