Key Returnees
The Cardinals will lean on returning lettermen Patrick Pelini and Pat Brennan, who are seniors. The team will also feature newcomers to the Mooney varsity team in Luke Pecchia, Alex Wollet, and Jay Raymer. Underclassmen such as juniors Vinny Gentile and Jordan Stanford will be asked to see a significant role this season as well as sophomore Pete Haas. Other newcomers who will have a role in the program are Zion Willis, Jacob Simon, Terrell Brown, John Mikos, Anthony Fire, Luke Fulton, and Chris Gruber.

Outlook
New head coach Carey Palermo has had success as Ursuline’s junior varsity coach in recent years. Prior to his coaching stint at Ursuline, the standout guard went onto have a solid collegiate career at Bethany where he was named team captain. Palermo is optimistic about his group, “(They’ve) worked extremely hard all summer and fall. There are a lot of newcomers to the varsity level, but they’re blending (well) and coming together. This year’s team is built on defense and out-working our opponents. The team will go as far as our seniors take us.”
