Key Returnees
Without a large senior class which included the likes of D.J. Pullie (14.0 ppg, 2.7 apg), Trey Toothman (11.3 ppg, 2.6 apg), Nick Rusyn (7.7 ppg, 8.3 rpg), Danny Laut (8.0 ppg, 2.6 apg) and Alec Economous (5.9 ppg, 3.0 rpg) – it will be a different look to the team in 2016-17. The team will be led by seniors Jon Gerace and Garrett Dickey. Gerace was a major contributor on last season’s 17-win team. He shot 55.1% from the floor (103-187) and 34.3% from three-point land (12-35) while connecting on 77.0% from the foul line (47-61) for a 10.6 scoring average. Number 5 also hauled down 6.2 boards and dished out 1.8 assists per contest. Dickey appeared in 21 games a season ago as he averaged 1.8 points and 1.2 assists. Juniors Mitch Davidson (1.5 ppg in 13 games), Zach Bezon and Chase Ackerman (0.8 ppg in 14 games) will all be asked to fill a key role on this year’s Quaker team.

Outlook
In Salem’s fifth season in the Northeastern Buckeye Conference, the Quakers finished with an 8-6 league mark. The significance of that record is that it’s just the second time that Salem has finished with a winning mark in the league.

2015-16: 8-6
2014-15: 4-10
2013-14: 5-9
2012-13: 9-5
2011-12: 3-11

Can the Quakers make some more noise in the always difficult NBC with such an inexperienced lineup?
