YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Ohio drivers can use a helpful mobile app during their holiday travels this season.

The Ohgo app from the Ohio Department of Transportation offers several features, including over 600 live traffic cameras.

“You can also see live traffic speeds, so you can see what the conditions are along your route,” said Matt Burning, with ODOT. “You can also get live accident updates so when there is a crash, we put that into the Ohgo app.”

The Ohgo app is available for free download in the App Store. The information can also be accessed at ohgo.com.

Over 48 million Americans are expected to travel over 50 miles between Wednesday and Sunday night. Ninety percent of them will be traveling by car.

In Ohio alone, experts are expecting this Thanksgiving to be the busiest weekend on the roads in the last 11 years with over 2 million drivers traveling.

Drivers are advised to be patient on the roads and allow extra time in case they run into traffic problems.
