Suspect accused of Niles shooting extradited to Trumbull County

WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – A suspect accused of shooting his girlfriend in Niles in August and then running to West Virginia has been extradited over to Trumbull County.

Clair Douglas Enlow was indicted by a Trumbull County grand jury on attempted murder, domestic violence, having weapons under disability and two counts of felonious assault charges. He appeared in Trumbull County Court of Common Pleas without an attorney and refused to be arraigned on Tuesday, but bond was set at $250,000.

Police said Enlow’s girlfriend, Laurie Gray, was found with multiple gunshot woulds at the couple’s Battles Avenue home. Enlow left before officers arrived, and he was found 16 hours later in West Virginia.

Neighbors say the couple had problems in the past.

Enlow’s arraignment was rescheduled for Tuesday.
