Key Returnees
The Steelers return letter winners Kyi Wright (6’3/SO), Jarod Messet (5’9/SR) and Nylan Hosey (6’0/SR). Art Shannon and Nakai Niles will be given opportunities to shine while the football players return to basketball form. “The team has shown the willingness to buy into the new concepts,” says coach Stewart. “On a daily basis, they’ve worked towards enhancing their skills.”

Outlook
In early August, Farrell announced that Bobby Stewart would replace Roland Shannonhouse as the program’s head varsity basketball coach. Shannonhouse found success to the tune of a winning percentage of 72.2% (244-94) over the course of the last 13 years. Stewart, a ’69 graduate of Farrell, was a key member of the sixth state championship team under coach Ed McCluskey. Losing seven seniors off of last year’s roster including the school’s all-time leading scorer – Malik Miller (1574) – won’t be an easy task for the former assistant in his first-year at the helm. “The expectation is to finish in the top three (allowing us to) move on to the playoffs as we gain valuable experience (along the way),” indicates Stewart.
