BAZETTA TOWNSHIP, Ohio – Zella “Faye” Jones, age 89 of Bazetta Township, passed away at 6:50 a.m. on Wednesday, November 23, 2016, at Briar Hill Nursing Home in Middlefield.
She was born March 7, 1927, in Ebensburg, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Ernest Clair and Bertha Jane Kelly Oaks. Her family moved to Vienna in 1931.
Faye was a 1945 graduate of Vienna High School and worked in the office of Taylor Winfield Corporation until her marriage on June 1, 1947 to Paul G. Jones of Howland. They then moved to Bazetta Road, where they spent 56 years of married life until his passing in 2003.
Faye enjoyed reading, gardening, canning, garage sales and flea markets.
She is survived by one daughter, Debbie J. Kovacs of Johnston; one son, Lonnie P. (Kay) Jones of Middlefield; three grandchildren, Gregory Jones, Justin (Jackie) Jones and Hannah Kovacs and five great-grandchildren, Austin, Isabella, Annastyn, Evan and Lily Jones.
Faye was also preceded in death by her son-in-law, Darryl Kovacs; a great-grandson, Jackson Todd Jones; two sisters, Marjorie Hayes and Dorothy Oaks and three brothers, Otis, Ord and Olen Oaks.
Per Faye’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or services.
Following cremation, burial will be with her husband at Vienna Township Cemetery.
Arrangements were entrusted to Lane Family Funeral Homes, Shafer-Winans Chapel in Cortland.
