4 shot at Albany, New York nightclub

Police said one of the victims, a male, died as a result of his injuries at Albany Medical Center Hospital

Four people were shot and one killed at a nightclub shooting in Albany, New York.

ALBANY, NY (CNN) – Police in New York State are investigating an overnight shooting at a gay bar and nightclub in Albany.

Officers responding to a shots-fired call early Thursday morning found four people with gunshot wounds.

A male victim died at the hospital.

Another male and two females were hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.

The attack was not random, according to police, who have reportedly taken at least one person into custody. But authorities and the club’s owner say the incident does not appear to be a hate crime against the LGBT community.
