GIRARD, Ohio (WKBN) – What’s Thanksgiving without a little football?

Thursday was the 46th annual Turkey Bowl in Girard.

The game is two-hand touch. Teams were those 30 years and older versus the younger men.

The group plays every year at the same time and on the same field on Trumbull Avenue

Randy Dykes, of Girard, said it’s a tradition that he plans to continue for awhile.

“Maybe it will go on forever. I don’t know, but I’m surprised how the participation is,” he said. “You don’t have to really call. Everyone just knows to come.”

The 30 and older team won this year, 21 to 7.
