YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – On a chilly day like Sunday, some hot cocoa and warm cookies might have hit the spot. That’s what 9-year-old Tyler Gallo thought when he decided to create a hot cocoa stand to raise money for kids less fortunate.
Sunday was his fifth year hosting the Toys for Tots drive at his home in Youngstown. He asked for toy or money donations, and in exchange people got a cookie and hot chocolate.
“With the money, we go and buy more toys from toy stores,” Gallo said. “And with the toys, we give them to people who don’t have that many.”
A couple of Marines also stopped by to help Gallo out with his donations toward their foundation.
Gallo is collecting donations through the holiday season. Check out the Facebook page Tyler’s Cocoa and Cookie Stand for more information.
