WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – The top senior football players from Trumbull County gathered Monday night, all vying for one of the area’s most prestigious honors. Only one would walk away with the distinction of Trumbull County Player of the Year.
It comes as no surprise that Warren Harding’s Lynn Bowden was named the 2016 Trumbull County Player of the Year. The announcement was made at the annual Trumbull County Player of the Year Banquet held at Leo’s Ristorante in Howland.
A strong candidate to be Ohio Mister Football, Bowden finished his senior year with 2,277 rushing yards, 1,366 passing yards, with 57 total touchdowns. He helped lead the Raiders to a record of 11-2 and a trip to the Division II Regional Championship.
Earlier Monday night, Bowden was named Division II Offensive Player of the Year.
