MAHONING COUNTY, Ohio (WKBN) – One person was killed after a crash on the Ohio Turnpike I-80 on Monday just after 2 p.m.

Ohio State Highway Patrol said Edwin D. Claytor of Holland was driving the vehicle, which went off the right side of the road and hit a tree at mile marker 216.8, which is between Lordstown and North Jackson.

Claytor, 69 years old, suffered fatal injuries.

There was only one car involved in the crash.

The Highway Patrol said Claytor was wearing his seat belt and that drugs are suspected. Toxicology tests and a coroner’s report are pending.

The crash remains under investigation.
