Game Notes
Quarterback Jared Huelsman rushed for a 3-yard touchdown late in the fourth quarter to give the Wildcats a 27-21 victory over McComb in the State Semifinals last weekend. Huelsman completed 54.2% of his passes for 127 yards against the Panthers. The junior signal caller also rushed for 49 yards while Bryce Schmiesing gained 56.

Minster has won 8 consecutive games since beginning the campaign with a 2-4 mark. Two of their opponents – Coldwater and Marion Local – are playing for state championships in other Divisions. In Division 5, Coldwater (13-1) will meet Canton Central Catholic (10-3). While in Division 6, Marion Local will meet Cuyahoga Heights (14-0) on Friday.

The Wildcats are 5-0 in games decided by a touchdown or less.

Warren JFK’s defense has held thirteen of their fourteen opponents to 14-points or less (St. Thomas Aquinas scored 27). They opened the season by shutting out five of their first six opponents. Only four foes have been able to accumulate double-digits. In their State Semifinal matchup with Harvest Prep, the defense held the Warriors’ standout Daniel Bangura (Ohio’s single-season rushing holder) to just 89 yards on 22 carries. In total, Harvest Prep were only able to manage 58 yards of offense on 43 plays from scrimmage.

Evan Boyd ran for 103 yards against Harvest Prep while Gregory Valent (team’s quarterback) tallied 4 total touchdowns (3 rushing, 1 passing).
