PITTSBURGH (AP) – Pennsylvania Department of Human Services officials say the agency expects to launch its soon-to-be-released cellphone app before the end of the year.
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports myCOMPASS PA remains in its final testing stages, with hopes that the app will be available for use by clients sometime in December.
Officials have praised the app for its ability to help save time and effort for both caseworkers and clients.
The goal is to improve basic customer service functions by allowing clients to use myCOMPASS Pa for anything they would normally have to call or appear in person to do.
DHS Secretary Ted Dallas says the app helps the department use its resources more for helping people instead of managing paperwork.
The app cost just less than $5 million to develop.
