A child in Massachusetts attempts to revive her mother after an apparent drug overdose.

LAWRENCE, MA (WKBN) — The woman shown in a viral video lying on the floor of a store, while her young daughter tried to wake her up is now charged with child endangerment.

Mandy McGowan was shown passed out on the floor of a Family Dollar in September, and authorities say she was overdosing.

Her 2-year-old child can be seen in the video crying and screaming at her mother, trying to revive her.

According to WFXT, McGowan needed two shots of narcan to be revived.

Now, prosecutors are charging McGowan with reckless child endangerment.

“For several minutes that two year old child was trying to get her mother’s attention. And crying. Since the defendant deliberately ingested the drugs that did render her unconscious and left her child unattended, unattended in a public place, officer did charge her with reckless endangerment of that child,” said Prosecutor Lindsay Shaheen during court proceedings.

McGowan’s lawyer says the woman is currently getting help at a residential treatment facility, but a judge ordered the woman not to contact her daughter.
