CLEVELAND (AP) – Police say a 68-year-old man fatally shot one of two suspects who broke into his Cleveland home.

Cleveland.com reports the shooting occurred Sunday on the city’s east side.

Neither the home’s resident nor the suspect who was killed has been identified.

The man told police he was in bed when he heard someone breaking in, went downstairs to investigate and fired several shots when two men charged at him.

Police say a man was found dead in the backyard of the home. The 68-year-old resident wasn’t injured.
