Harding’s Bowden finishes second for Ohio Mr. Football

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WKBN) – Toledo Central Catholic Running Back Michael Warren was named the 30th annual winner of the Ohio Associated Press Mr. Football award.   Warren Harding’s Lynn Bowden finished in a tie for second place with ten points, including two first-place votes.

The 5’10” 210-pounder Warren rushed for 2,740 yards with 45 touchdowns this season.  He helped lead the Fighting Irish to a record of 13-1 with a trip to the Division III State Semifinal game.

During his career at Toledo Central Catholic, he has rushed for 7,619 with 105 touchdowns, leading the team to 50-7 overall record in his four seasons.  He is committed to play college football for the Toledo Rockets.

Warren Harding standout Lynn Bowden was a strong contender for the award.

Bowden finished his senior year with 2,277 rushing yards, 1,366 passing yards, with 57 total touchdowns. He helped lead the Raiders to a record of 11-2 and a trip to the Division II Regional Championship.

Earlier Monday night, Bowden was named Division II Offensive Player of the Year.
