WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – Construction workers said they were threatened by a man with a gun while they were working in Warren.

The men called police just after 10 a.m. Wednesday, reporting that a man living in apartments on Cranberry Lane opened his apartment window and yelled at them to “shut up.” They said they were working on scaffolding on third story and said they told the man if he has a problem with their work to call the office.

The workers said about 10 minutes later the man again opened his window, stuck out a semi-automatic handgun and waved it at them yelling, “keep messing with me…” along with expletives.

The suspect, 18-year-old Nikita Pantelis, admitted to holding a gun but denied pointing it at the workers, according to a police report. Pantelis told officers that he was upset by the noise of the construction work while he was trying to sleep.

Pantelis was charged with two counts of aggravated menacing and taken to Trumbull County Jail. He pleaded not guilty to the charges on Thursday.
