George Anderson was promoted to detective sergeant in the Youngstown Police Department.


YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – The Youngstown Police Department promoted Officer George Anderson to detective sergeant.

Mayor John McNally gave Anderson the oath Thursday morning. The move fills a vacancy left by a recent retirement.

YPD has 30 detective sergeants, most of them assigned as plain clothes investigators or road patrol supervisors.

Anderson has been with the department for about nine and a half years.
