SHARON, Pa. (WKBN) – Police are investigating a robbery of the PNC Bank in Sharon.
Officers were called to the bank at E. State Street and Chestnut Avenue around 11:45 a.m. Friday for a silent alarm.
Employees said a man, who said he had a weapon, made off with an undetermined amount of money. They told police that he never showed a weapon during the robbery.
The Sharon Police Department is investigating, along with Pennsylvania State Police and the FBI.
Sharon Police released a surveillance image of the robber and described him as a middle-aged, heavy-set black man, wearing a dark-colored jacket and jeans. He is approximately 5’10” to 6′ tall with a “scruffy” gray goatee and glasses, according to police.
Police are warning the community not to approach the man, as he is considered armed and dangerous.
