LISBON, Ohio – Jeremy John “Mac” “JJ” McElroy 44, of Lisbon, died at his home Sunday evening, December 4, 2016.
He was born on October 12, 1972 in East Liverpool, Ohio, the son of Harry McElroy Jr. and Donna (Hooper) McElroy – Farley.
He was currently employed at Freshmark Foods in Salem for the past three years.
Mac was very well known in the area and enjoyed spending time with his friends socializing. He was a very hard worker these past several years and also liked to wrench on cars. The Chevy cars were his favorite of all. He knew what it was to be a good father and spent time playing ball, going fishing, and sharing his collection of Hot Wheels with Austin. He also spent time to help father a step son Carson. Jeremy was a very competitive person in things he did and wanted to show it to others.
He is survived by his father and stepmother, Dorothy Greathouse of East Liverpool and his mother, in Orangeburg, South Carolina; a son, Austin James Peck-McElroy of Rogers; stepson, Carson Rae Peck-Campbell of Rogers; two half-brothers, Jay and Joshua McElroy of East Liverpool and a stepsister, Angie McElroy of East Liverpool and Kevin “Turtle” Short of Lisbon who was like a brother to Mac and made a place for him to live the past three months; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Jason Scott “Scotty” McElroy in 2008 and his stepfather, Lester Farley.
A time of visitation will be held on Thursday, December 8, 5:30 – 7:45 p.m. at the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, Salem.
A service will follow at 7:45 p.m. with Pastor Kari Lankford officiating.
A television tribute will air Wednesday, December 7 at the following approximate times:
12:25 p.m. WKBN, 6:58 p.m. on MyYTV and 10:37 p.m. FOX plus two additional spots throughout the day.
