Ticket sales strong for Youngstown State University playoff game

YSU faces up against the Wofford Terriers on Saturday

A steady stream of fans were buying tickets for this weekend's game between YSU's football team and the Wofford Terriers in the quarter-finals of the college football FCS playoffs.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) –  If you want to see the Youngstown State University Penguins one more time at home this season, this Saturday will be your final opportunity.

A steady stream of fans were buying tickets for this weekend’s game between YSU’s football team and the Wofford Terriers in the quarter-finals of the college football FCS playoffs.

Unlike the Penguins’ home game in the first round, ticket sales this Saturday are drawing a lot more interest.

“We still have a lot of chairbacks right at the moment. We’ve had a great, steady stream of traffic all morning, great online sales yesterday. There are still some great seats near the 50 yard line,” said YSU Assistant Athletic Director John Tomsich.

Kickoff is at 2 p.m.

If the Penguins win this weekend, they will be just one win away from a trip to Texas and the National Championship.
