NEWTON FALLS, Ohio – Inell Shavers Brimmer, 90, of 4620 Kinsman Street, Newton Falls, Ohio departed this life Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at 8:15 a.m. at her grandson’s residence, following an extended illness.
She was born February 26, 1926 in Warren, Ohio, the daughter of Daniel and Lolar Grissett Shavers.
Mrs. Brimmer was employed with Rockwell International in the kitchen for several years and worked at the Ravenna Arsenal during the war.
She was a member of Lordstown Baptist Church, where she was the former pianist, also playing piano for Braceville Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening and music.
She was a 1944 graduate of Newton Falls High School.
She married Fred Brimmer in 1945, he died in 1984.
She leaves to mourn her two caregivers (grandsons), Michael Peterson and William Clark both of Warren; one brother, Daniel Shavers of Braceville; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three sons, Rev. William Barnes, Jr., Fred Brimmer, Jr. and Edward Brimmer; two daughters, Mrs. Lena Clark and Ms. Marcella Brimmer; four brothers, Sam Shavers, Odell Shavers, Pete Shavers and Jay Shavers and one sister, Ms. Susie Bell Turner.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, December 12, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Braceville.
Calling hours will be held one hour prior to service (10:00-11:00 a.m.).
Burial will take place at Braceville Township Cemetery.
Family will receive friends at 636 Oak Knoll Avenue, N.E., the home of her grandson, Michael Peterson.
Arrangements of comfort were handled by the Sterling-McCullough Williams Funeral Home.
