WARREN, Ohio – Michael M. Sheptock passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2016, at St. Josephs Hospital in Warren, Ohio. He was 91 years old.
Mike was born in Elkhorn, West Virginia, on March 31, 1925, a son of Michael and Emma Sheptock.
He was a graduate of Elkhorn High School and moved to Warren in 1942. In July of 1943, he enlisted with the Merchant Marines and served with them throughout World War II.
After his discharge, he would spend 34 years at Van Huffel Tube Corporation as a roll design operator before his retirement.
Mike enjoyed traveling, bowling, golfing and umpiring slowpitch softball. He was a longtime member of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church and also loved crafting Ukrainian Easter Eggs and Orthodox Crosses.
Mike is survived by his sons, Gary (Cathy) Sheptock and Mark Sheptock, both of Berlin Center, Ohio; his grandchildren, Logan and Ryley; brother, Pete (Maryann) Sheptock of Boston, Massachusetts and his sister, Helen King of Endicott, New York.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret “Marge,” whom he married on February 4, 1947 and by his two sisters, Ann Semanco and Julie Barker.
Friends may call on Sunday, December 11, 2016, from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at the Peter Rossi and Son Memorial Chapel in Warren. A panachida service will be held beginning at 1:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 12, 2016, at St. Nicholas Church with Very Rev. Protopresbyter Kenneth Bachofsky, D. Min. officiating.
Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until the start of the service at the church on Monday, December 12, 2016.
