Mandy Noell joined the WKBN 27 First News team as evening co-anchor in October 2016.
A native of Beaver County, PA, just across the Ohio border, she was thrilled to come back home to work in The Valley.
Before joining the First News evening team, Mandy was a reporter and anchor in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina at WMBF News. She started her TV news career there. Through the years she rose through the ranks, from Digital Producer, to Breaking News Anchor and Reporter.
She graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in Electronic and Print Journalism, and loves to show “Hokie Pride”. Mandy loves sports, both playing and spectating.
While in college, she worked at WJJS radio station in Roanoke, co-hosting the evening show several times a week.
Mandy decided in middle school after hosting the morning announcements in 7th grade that she’d like to make a career out of delivering the important details of the day to people in the community. What started out as a thought, turned into a dream that continues to drive her.
Mandy has two rescue dogs, Bailey and Zoe, who she is constantly trying to train. She frequently posts pictures of the so-called “evil twins” on her Facebook page.
The most beautiful thing about working in the news industry, Mandy believes, is the ability to impact people with stories every single day. She is excited to be a member of the WKBN team, because the station’s goal is to advocate for the community, and that is very in line with Mandy’s own aspirations.
She loves chatting on Facebook and Twitter. If you see her out, don’t be shy, she loves to talk (just ask Dave Sess and Stan Boney).
