CORTLAND, Ohio – James “Jay” Frantz, Sr., age 52, passed away after a brief illness on Tuesday, December 13, 2016, at St. Elizabeth Health Center.
Jay was born December 5, 1964, in Warren, to the late Charles H. and Fern (DeGood) Frantz. He worked for 27 years for Denman Tire until their closing. Currently, he was employed in maintenance at Lake Vista.
When he wasn’t hanging out with his family telling stories, Jay could be found hunting and fishing. He enjoyed woodworking and spent several years as a volunteer fireman for Cortland.
Jay is survived by his wife, the former Lisa Colley, whom he married on August 17, 1985. He is also survived by his children, James (Morgan) Frantz, Jr., Kerstie (Levi) Kenney and Hollie Frantz; his siblings, Charles D. (Janet) Frantz and Dorothy (Gary) Barber; his nephews, Charles Robert (Rosalba) Frantz and John David (Brianne) Barber and his niece, Rebecca (David) Samblant.
