Police: Girl taken from home in Vienna, meth lab suspected

Police were called to the home on Robert Street Monday night to check on the welfare of a child

A child was taken from a suspected meth lab in Vienna Township, Ohio.

VIENNA TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKBN) – Police in Vienna Township removed a young girl from a mobile home in Vienna Township where they suspect methamphetamine was being produced.

Police received an anonymous 911 call to a home on Robert Street Monday night to check on the welfare of a child.

While there, officers detected an smell they said was consistent with meth making coming from a trailer.

The 4-year-old child was taken to the hospital.

“They got the girl out. The girl is safe. She’s being checked out at the hospital to make sure she’s OK,” said Vienna Township Police Chief Bob Ludt.

She will be in the care of Children Services during the initial investigation.

Matthew Henderson, 29, is charged with operation of a suspected meth lab. Arrest warrants have been issued for Steven Phillips and Ryan Armstrong on drug charges, according to police.
