Police: Car chase ends in wreck, driver thrown from vehicle

Ohio State Highway Patrol said Boardman Police were trying to pull a car over, but it didn't stop

A chase after a routine traffic stop in Boardman ended with a vehicle hitting a pole and the driver being thrown from the car.


BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) – Police had no new updates Monday about a chase following a routine traffic stop in Boardman Sunday night.

The police chase ended with the car hitting a pole and the driver being thrown from the car.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said Boardman Police were trying to pull the car over, but it didn’t stop.

They said the driver then drove through the intersection of Shields and Market Street, hit another vehicle, veered off the road and smashed into a pole as the driver was thrown from the car.

The driver was¬†taken to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital along with the passenger.

Highway Patrol is still investigating the crash.
