State Route 534 open again after truck crashed into pole

Some residents in Berlin Township lost power when the truck knocked down the lines

BERLIN TWP., Ohio (WKBN) – State Route 534 is back open Thursday night after a vehicle crashed into a utility pole.

Ohio State Highway Patrol said a commercial vehicle crashed into the pole shortly after 2:30 p.m. Thursday.

The truck knocked down power lines, which landed on top of it. Some residents in Berlin Township lost power but as of Thursday night, it had been restored to most of them.

The road closed just before 3 p.m. between U.S. 224 and City Route 18. It reopened around 10 p.m.

Highway Patrol did not know if anyone was injured in the crash.
