SALEM, Ohio – Alex Ovens Adams 77, of Salem, died at 9:45 a.m. Saturday, December 24 at Blossom Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born on February 24, 1939 in Mexico, Missouri, the son of the late Alex O. and Margaret (Johnson) Adams.
He had been a salesman for NRM and worked out of the offices in Mexico, Detroit, Houston and Cincinnati.
He was a former golfer and bowler and played semi-pro baseball in Missouri. He was a wonderful artist and could draw and paint about anything. In his spare time he enjoyed all kinds of cars and a big fan of the St. Louis Cardinals.
A graduate of Mexico High School, he attended college for several years then went into the U.S. Air Force from 1960 – 1964.
He is survived by his wife, the former Donna C. Martin, whom he married on January 9, 2004; his children, Susan (mark) Barrett of Missouri, Alex Adams, III of Canada and Elizabeth “Libby” (Kurt) Heim of Texas and a stepdaughter, Christy (Rod) Anderson of Texas; six grandchildren and his sister, Ann.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Peggy.
There will be no services held and arrangements were by the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, Salem
