WARREN, Ohio – Mary Amalia Massucci, 103, passed away January 1, 2017 at Lake Vista in Cortland.
She was born September 14, 1913, in Forli Del Sannio, Italy the daughter of the late Marco and Adelina Iarussi.
Mary came to Warren in 1920.
She was a member of St. James Church in Warren, 50 and over Club at the Church and the Italian Sons & Daughters of American Amnity Lodge out of Pittsburgh.
Mary was a loving kind soul with a heart of gold that was “Grandma Mary” to all who knew her. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and all of her grandchildren.
She is survived by her three sons, Ronald M. (Carol) Massucci, Mark A. (Debbie) Massucci and William J. “Bill” (Teresa) Massucci all of Warren; nine grandchildren, Brett (Jocelyn), Brian (Kim), Renee’ (friend Brian), Tina, Lisa (Bernard), Gina (Greg), Robert (Julie), Angela (Jason) and Marla (Daniel); 21 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Anthony Massucci who she married October 22, 1938 and passed away March 21, 1980; a brother, Orlando Iarussi and two sisters, Josephina Sferra and Jean DeMasi.
Family and friends may call Thursday, January 5, from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. and Friday, January 6 from 9:00 – 9:30 a.m. at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel 1884 North Rd. NE, Warren, Ohio 44483.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, January 6 at 10:00 a.m. at St. James Church in Warren, with Rev. Craig McHenry officiating.
Entombment will be in Pineview Cemetery in Warren.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mary’s memory to the Wolves Club Youth Scholarship fund c/o 1884 North Rd. NE, Warren, Ohio 44483.
