YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Charles R. Eckley, 85, passed away Monday, January 2, 2017 at Camelot Arms, where he was a resident.
He was born on November 8, 1931 in New Castle, Pennsylvania, son to the late William and Viola Eckley.
Charles was a member of 4 Mile Run Christian Church and was a steel worker for Jones and Laughlin Steel Company.
He will be remembered for the joy he found in fishing and his hobby of beekeeping, which earned him the local nickname, “The Bee Man.”
Charles is survived by his four children, Charles R. Eckley, Jr., Jordie A. Massaro, Diana L. Eckley and Timothy R. Eckley; eight grandchildren and his sister, Charolett John.
In addition to his parents, Charles is preceded in death by his wife of 19 years, Lana L. Eckely; his brothers, Ellis and George and his sisters, Florence, Twilia, Effie and Lois.
