GIRARD, Ohio – Sandra Lynn Percy, 73, passed away Wednesday, January 4 at Shepherd of the Valley in Howland.
She was born October 18, 1943 in Havre-De-Grace, Maryland, the daughter of George E. Percy and Kathryn C. Percy.
Sandra came to Niles when she was three and was raised by her aunt, Carrie MacMillan.
She graduated from Niles High School and Kent State University with a degree in teaching.
She substituted in Trumbull County and Warren City schools and also taught at St. Peter and Paul Catholic school for 14 years until they closed. She then worked in the Foster Grandparents Program and taught at Shepherd of All God’s Children School until retirement.
Sandra loved her church and was active her whole life serving and teaching. She was a faithful servant of her Lord and a witness to God. Sandra also loved her dog, ‘KC’, who she had for many years. She also liked to crochet and write stories and had some published.
She is survived by her cousins, Kenneth MacMillan (Felicia) of Howland and Bonnie Marvin (Tom) of Deltona, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Kathryn Percy and her aunt, Carrie MacMillan.
Service will be Saturday, January 7 at 1:00 p.m. conducted by Pastor Don Sparman at Pleasant Valley Church, 2055 Pleasant Valley Rd, Niles, Ohio 44446 with calling hours at 12:00 Noon, one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be at Forest hills Cemetery in Dunmore, Pennsylvania.
